When I first joined the Chorus, I was both new in town and working out of town. This made meeting people harder and the Chorus became a lifeline to friendships. Between the people, the music, the friendships and the performances, the Chorus has been a rock where I can rely on seeing a friendly face, hearing a positive word, and learning to sing. The first night I came out to listen to a performance, my first thought was, “this group is having fun!", when I came to practices and joined, I realized that I had underestimated just how much fun and friendship there was. Whether you come for the fun and stay for the music or come for the music and stay for the fun, the choice to come is an excellent one.

The Chorus is special to me because it promotes good will and combines entertainment with community values. These values have contributed to the longevity of the organization, a rarity in todays society. Since joining the Greater Victoria Police Chorus in 1984 many changes have occurred but fond memories linger with so many members come and gone, their spirits live on.

The Greater Victoria Police Chorus provides a fantastic, fun , and spirited concert experience; no one outdoes their renditions of Amazing Grace, Take me Home, I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas, and A Place in The Choir. The Mothers Day concert is a must see and I highly recommend it.
